The country of Chile extends for 2800 miles along the southwest coast of South America,
from the subtropics to Antarctica. Within this area are diverse vegetation types adapted
to the hyper-arid desert, summer-dry scrublands, the dry cold puna of the high Andes,
and the temperate rainforest in the south. About half of the native species are estimated to be
endemic to Chile. The mediterranean climate type prevalent in central Chile closely resembles that
found in California and the temperate climate of southern Chile is similar to that of the
northwest U.S. The
beautiful flora of Chile is somewhat unknown in our country. We offer a variety of
climbing vines, bushes, palms, evergreens, and stately trees from Chile which
add unique beauty and variety to your edible landscape.
