Cherries, Tart
Cherry Pollination Chart |
|
Tart cherries are native from eastern Europe and Turkey along the Black Sea. The tree
is naturally dwarf and the canopy shape is perfectly round, a perfect tree for the edible landscape where beauty,
form and function come together. Tart cherries are more disease resistant, hardier and bloom later than sweet
cherries and are an excellent choice for colder regions of the country. The fruit is deliciously tart and lends
itself for perfect jam making. Pitted, it can be easily frozen and later baked into homemade pies without sacrificing
any of the original freshness of taste or texture. |
